Biography
I am Dev Ramnath, an Actor, Entrepreneur, and YouTuber. My journey is deeply rooted in the dreams and aspirations that took shape during my formative years. Growing up in a middle-class family with hardworking parents, I was instilled with values that fueled both ambition and humility. From a young age, I harboured a big dream that transcended the confines of my modest beginnings.
Childhood Dream
Cricket was my first love, and I spent countless hours honing my skills, driven by the desire to play at the highest of levels. I went to represent teams at district and state levels in various age categories. The cricket field was where I discovered the thrill of competition, the joy of teamwork, and the resilience needed to bounce back from setbacks. Unfortunately, a major injury cut short my cricketing pursuits despite my best efforts.
Cinematic Allure
Outside the cricketing arena, cinema captured my imagination. It wasn’t just a pastime; it was a realm of storytelling that transported me to different worlds. My journey into the world of performing arts began at the tender age of 4 when I was cast in a school stage play, blissfully unaware of the magic unfolding around me. As a wide-eyed dreamer, I found inspiration in the narratives unfolding on the silver screen, igniting a spark that would later define my journey in the Tamil film industry.
Balancing Act
While chasing cricketing dreams and immersing myself in the magic of cinema, I never let my studies take a backseat. Education was a priority, a foundation I laid to ensure a holistic development. The discipline instilled in me during those academic pursuits continues to shape my approach to various aspects of life.
Career
After graduating as an Engineer from SSN, I embarked into the corporate world for 2 years. It taught what the real professional world feels like. This experience later came in handy when I wanted to start my venture.
Dreams don’t die, they just transform
While my cricketing dream had come to a screeching halt, the dreamer in me wasn’t ready to quit. The dreamer wanted to dream and that is where my passion and love for cinema acted as inspiration.
I decided to pursue acting and quit my corporate journey. A decade into this journey, I have 6 films, 4 web series, and 10s ads to my credit apart from running a content studio that has worked with some of the top corporate houses in India.
Dreamers keep dreaming: Madboys, My Entrepreneurial Journey
My perpetual curiosity towards various things in life led me to another new journey with the realms of storytelling. I founded a content studio, along with a friend, that would produce corporate communication and fictional content. We started the firm in 2014 and have produced close to 100 commercials, handful of short fictional content. We are currently pursuing to transform into a long format production house.

YouTube is one of the most democratic platforms giving ample space for anyone and everyone who desires to be a storyteller. There is not fixed format and anything and everything can be content. I’ve always wanted to have close association with my audience and this has led me to begin my journey in this medium.
My childhood was marked by the dichotomy of big dreams and modest beginnings. It was a period of relentless pursuit, where the backdrop of a middle-class life only fueled my determination. The unwavering support of my family, coupled with a relentless work ethic, laid the groundwork for the ambitious journey that lay ahead.
